Unhappy whine while turning???

Guys,
I've developed a noticeable whining noise when turning the wheel left and right.
I first thought it could be low on power steering fluid, but I can't seem to find the resevoir or the dipstick to even check the level. (I know, sounds stupid, and I'm not mechanically challanged either.....I've been all over the engine bay and can't find it!!! Any help there?????)
Anyone have any ideas what it could be???? The steering doesn't get tight and I can't feel any vibration in the wheel either.
It has me concerned to drive it far until I find out what could be causing this noise.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Mine does the same thing. Had it fixed once but now it does it again. I think they replaced the power steering pump or some part in there. Not for sure but i think the tech said that a few things run off that system that is close to the fire wall and is why you can hear it really loud in the cab. Sounded crazy but maybe he is right i dont know. Mine is worse when it get really hot outside. Someone with more experience will chime in here.

It is your power steering pump. Very common problem. If it goes out completely it can cause you brakes to become hard also since they are linked by the pump.
