Unhappy whine while turning???

Guys,
I've developed a noticeable whining noise when turning the wheel left and right.
I first thought it could be low on power steering fluid, but I can't seem to find the resevoir or the dipstick to even check the level. (I know, sounds stupid, and I'm not mechanically challanged either.....I've been all over the engine bay and can't find it!!! Any help there?????)
Anyone have any ideas what it could be???? The steering doesn't get tight and I can't feel any vibration in the wheel either.
It has me concerned to drive it far until I find out what could be causing this noise.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

On the back of the pump. Driver's side yellow cap behind the bottom pulley. Dipstick is in the cap.

Thanks....Found it, but mine is a black cap.....appears to be low. Level was on the add line, but only other line on ther was the full/hot line.
Either way I'll put a little in it.
Any idea what kind to use??? Should I get what they sell at the Dodge place?
Thanks again....

Most of them. Regular ATF will work if they don't have the ATF+4.

I developed a "chirp" when I turned the wheel all the way and it was dry upper ball joint(s). Only had about 6K on the truck. Repaired by tapping zerks in top and filling with grease. That was about 14K ago and still seems fine ... greased at each oil change.

There's no zerk fitting on the ball joints from factory ... drill and tap your own and then fill with grease. Did mine this way cuz they were still basically brand new so it was worth a try ... it worked great and also got the free replacements for later.

The truck was still basically brand new and I was in a hurry so instead of tearing everything apart and actually replacing the ball joints right then he just tapped in the zerks and greased them up ... didn't even take the tires off ... was done in minutes ... it solved the problem so I left it at that and the mech. gave me the new replacements he would have installed as per warranty.
