I have my mind set that I want to set my truck up with the leveling kit from lorenz and buy the extra set of bilsteins for the rear of the truck to help the ride. I plow with the truck so the extra clearance will help with sag. What percentage should I go with the 23 or 6? The website says to go with the 23% for snowplows but I dont want to completely ruin the ride of the truck.

Are you planning on running the plow as a buisness or just mount it up and plow your neighbors driveway when the snow hits. If your running it for a buisness the 23% may be the way to go otherwise I would stick with the 6. I'm running the 6% and it firmed up the ride nicely without overdoing it, there is less bodyroll and the truck feels more balanced. Call Sean and talk to him, he will answer any questions you may have and loves to talk trucks, he was on the phone with me for about 25 mins before I bought my kit. I would also suggest going with the swaybar extension instead of the drop blocks. The factory extensions are thin compared to replacements and may hold up better to the weight of the plow.

Where in New Jersey are you located, if your close to Seaside shoot on over and I'll give you a ride in my truck to test the kit.

 

Hey thanks for the advise. I do plow commercially with the truck but I have a feeling the 6 will be enough because it sags a little stock so the 6 would probably be enough. I shot Sean an email but he didnt respond yet. Im always down that way as my girlfriend lives in Forked River. I might be going down this weekend but time will be tight as I'm trying to help my father pull his boat this weekend and get ready to bring everything North again. Any pics of your truck? Does it sit level without doing anything to the rearend?

It sits fairly level (better than the dog with it's nose in the weeds like before). Actual measurements from the edge on the very bottom of the body shows it sits level. I think another 1/2" in the nose would be perfect, but then I'm also very picky when it comes to nose heavy trucks...some people don't care. My father says they get better mileage that way because "they are always running down hill"

Nice truck and thanks for the pics. We dont fish much mostly take it for day trips on the weekends or hang out over at tices but we have a World Cat 25' DC with twin honda 150s. Currently trying to sell it if you know anyone interested. He wants to move up to a 29 with a cabin.

id go 23% since its what sean specifies. im running 6% and she is still kinda bouncy in the front, but better than stock... heres some pics- i think she turned out nicely...

If you want to go with a softer spring to preserve the smoother ride then take a look at the Timbrens ... they make a set for our truck with a 2" levelling kit (I have them). Honestly the best money I have ever spent for plowing. The setup in my sig works perfect for me and wouldn't change a thing. I get about a 1/2" sag when I raise the plow but rides great when unloaded.

 

That's a pretty common misconception. You need more shock, not more spring. Using Sean's rating system, my springs are -10% or so and there's no bounce in the front of my truck.
