If you're towing, hauling or otherwise need the load capacity and sidewall stability provided by an E-rated tire, yes. If you're cruising the malls, no.

Don't go below a D rating for safety. There is over 2 tons on the front axle.

I am looking for a good set of load range E tires that are stock size and i am problems finding them online. The size on my truck is 265 70 R17. The size that comes on the newer dodges. Does anybody know of some decent all terrains with a load Range E?

I just bought 4 Bridgestone dueler A/T revos in the 265-70R17,E-rated.They are night and day as far as the stock michelins when it comes to gripping in the snow and mud and just as quiet on the road IMHO.I paid $745 mounted and balanced for all four tires.Another good web-site to check out tire reviews is www.tirerack.com coobie

I just tried non E Bridgestone tires after replacing stock tires that had 60K on them. First bump I hit over 70mph I experienced the Death Wobble for the first time ever. Exchanged for E rated Revo's and never had a better ride.

Thumbs up

I also did some reading up on these tires (Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo) and I read only (1) negative review out of 300 on 5 different sites. I maybe looking up my local retailer to check their availability, as I have read they are hard to come by. Maybe by summer they will be a bit more easier to come by.

I got a 06' last week and am going to take the stock 265/70/17's off later this week for some larger Nittos. I'm going to sell the stock tires. They are the BFG Rugged Trails OWL load range E(3500 QC 4x4) T hey will have less that 1K miles. I'll be happy to get $375 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm probably going to kick myself for doing this. Everytime I get a new truck, I switch out the tires for something that is beefy and end up wearing them out in 20K miles, and my friends stay stock and get 50-60K on the original equipments. Father-in-law is a tire engineer for Goodyear, and he claims the factories get the best, and if they don't balance within' a tight tolerance they get sent back. From his view point as an engineer, balance is 75% of the reason for good tire wear, that and how the builder makes his splices.

I am running H rated tires and love em. Taller and stronger than E rated and will last 2 to 4 times longer.

19.5/245/70s Michilen = to a 34 inch tire.

BKC Where are you located? I may be interested depending on shipping cost. I also wouldn't mind a picture of the tires

Located in North Canton, Ohio...60mi.south of Cleveland. UPS ships them all the time, we get our race tires from Tire Rack, and they just tape a label on the tire and ship. Even the most abusive UPS guys can't beat up a tire!
Pic is from the day I picked up the new truck....I'll get more detailed if you need. Scratch that...gotta figure out how to post pics...more later...Brian
