There is a TSB out to address that issue, have you had it done
If so have you had all the other TSB's done especially the one for the controller plug corrosion issue
Do you have any fault codes & if so what are they

I had the same issue, the dealership "could not replicate the symptom". THe dinging and flashing would last for about 30 seconds and then going away. It also seems speed sensitive. After checking around I found that one of the wires going to the rear licence plate lights was detached from the chassis.
I pulled all the bulbs and connectors and tightened what seemed to be loose bulb holder. The dinging/flashing has gone except for once. Obviously I made some sort of difference.

I was talking about the one you had done already.
Check your clearance lamps for moisture and all of your other lamps. Chances are there is one that is almost completely shorted or is wet and causeeing it to short. There has been some problems with the taillamp assembley going bad and causing the same thing to happen. You may want to pull all of those bulbs and check them.
I hope this helps

I had the same problerm Some of the bulbs were installed dry. This create enough resistance for the computer to sense it as an open circuit or bad lamp. dipped the base in electrolyte grease and it solved the problem.

I traced my problem to the left brake light bulb, it was interment, chiming and flashing the dash light for about a week. When I’d remove the left taillight assembly it would work, replace it and it didn’t. Figured a short, so I used the handyman’s best friend (duct tape) and cushioned the sharp edge of the hole through the body, right where the wires go thru the body. No difference, then the wife says (I needed someone to step on the brake pedal every now and then) “why don’t you just replace the bulb?” That did it. She's been right before, she said get the Diesel.
