Leak In Cab Lights
Has anyone found a fix for leaky cab lights? I have had my pickup for about a year and they just started leaking. Also, the water was coming out through the computer and I am nervous about shorts. . . Has anyone had this problem?

I am under warrently; however, I have read on these threads that this was a common problem so if they fix it and it happens again (I am out of warrently in 6,000 miles) I am on the hook.

There is a revised seal for the roof lights, and there is a TSB directing technicians to replace the lights with the new ones to solve the problem. As long as the truck is still under warranty, it should be covered.
Here's a link to the TSB.

Its a warranty thing, one of mine had a been tightened too much at the factory and cracked the lens, dealer has heavy duty replacements with new seals as well all under waranty no worries

I really wish my truck didn't have cab lights for the same reason I don't like sun roofs, especially here on the wet coast of Canada!

RTV silicone will solve all your problems. Takes about 10 min, costs a few bucks and no dealer hassles. Unless the lens is cracked then replace it. Personally I'd rather slam my hand in the door than deal with the dealer.

Agree with Both Ideas
DEFINITELY let the Dealer screw with it; no pun intended...
We had same thing on the 2004 one ton, water came down the column at the driver.
Same thing; little dab of silicone works very nicely cause I didn't want the hassle from the dealer.............
Good Luck, Enjoy the truck!
