Leak in the cab
bought a 2006 ful loaed larmie put on 10,000 km in the 1st month and the summer has now ended and the rain is now falling. i got in my truck and on the driver side (thankyou husky liners) I had a inch of water on my mat comming from the oh **** handles onboth sides not as bad on the passenger side though. So up to the dealer I go and they tell me they have had a few of the dodge line up come back with leaks ( not just there trucks) so they take of the overhead lights and re-seal and give the truck back to me one week no rain. I pick my kid fronm school and she pops downthe DVD and water starts to stream out right back to the daler I go and they tellme to come in on saturay its now wesnday. onsat I bring it in H20 in the Dvd for 2 more days and it still works. they order a new sun roof and now had it for 3 days no hard rain yet but I will be back here if it leaks on the next hard rain.
I have had water leaks on both of the CTDs I have owned. I had a 01.5 and my present 03. The 01.5 did not have cab marker lights. It was in the shop four times and a total of twenty plus days. I suspected it was the windshield but the dealer would not take it out until I told them I would pay any and all costs, including a new windshield if broken upon removal if the problem wasn't related to the windshield. When the windshield was removed missing body seam sealer was found to be the culprit. The strange part was this truck didn't start leaking until approximately 24K miles. My current 03 did the exact same thing but started at 32K miles. Both trucks would leak only under certain rainy conditions that could not be duplicated with a hose. The dealer could not find the problem with the 03 after three visits to the service department. I called DC customer service and got the too bad so sad sorry for your luck and you will just have to live with it response. I live in Ohio and the lemon law is applicable for 18 months. I had replaced many cabmarker lights both OEM and aftermarket to no avail. No matter how many I replaced and how much silicon I used they would all eventually get moisture in them. I still did not suspect the cabmarker lights were the source of the leak in the cab. When the 06s came out they had a new design cabmarker light with a seperate rubber base gasket. I ordered a complete set and installed them. That was about eight months ago and the interior is still leak free. I will never buy another truck with cabmarker lights. The same goes for a sunroof. You are just asking for troubles. DC has always had a reputation for not being able to build a leak free vehicle. Good luck with your leak. If you are seeing any condensation in the cabmarker lights, get them replaced. Even the 06 new design is not exempt from leaking. A friend has an 06 with two that get condensation in them. It is only a matter of time before you will get water in the cab. Normally when the truck is sitting level, as in an automatic car wash, that is when you will get water coming out of the overhead console. When that happenrd to me I made the decision to order th 06 style cabmarker lights.
