So how many people does it take to have the same problem before a recall on the unit is placed? Seems like a lot of people have had the same problem with the tail lamp assembly.

 

I had the exact same problem with mine last year, turned out it was the middle bulb in passenger tail light. It was not burnt out but after I pulled it out the fillament was toast, replaced it and lamp out went bye bye.

 

I had this problem on my 03 ctd and found out that some of the bulbs were installed dry.dip the base of the bulbs in conductive grease and it will solve the problem.

 

Well...I went by Walmart yesterday and I was going to buy six new bulbs for both of the back tail lamp assemblies...but they were out. I've always put the bulbs in dry too and it's never been a problem.

 

Hey guys, just want to thank you for this. My 2003 1500 had a lamp out warning. It turned out to be just my rear passenger brake light. After replacing all my bulbs, checking my fuses and checking my third brake bulbs and that didn't work. I was dumbfounded and almost brought it to the big bad overpriced dealer. Then I decided to read on in this thread and decided to go overpay at the dealer for the tail light assembly console.
