Well my HeaterTreater parts just came today. Need to drop by a buddy's shop and get the AC discharged sometime to get going on the repairs/replacement.

What's the average cost of a heater core & AC coil both Dodge & aftermarket. Have not gotten quotes yet, don't know what to expect.

Where can I find more info on the fin sensor? I have had freeze up issues in the past. My mechanic friend topped off the refrigerant, but said it wasn't really all that low, but the problem was a bit better after he did so.

thanks and Merry Christmas everyone.

Todd

I have additional pics that I took when I fixed all my doors (me and the wife tackled it back in August). The door for the floor hinge had broken and my local dealership told me that Dodge had re-designed the entire system and I couldn't replace that one small part and they would only let me buy the entire system for $1,300!! I said no way and I did a MacGyver and fixed it for about a buck or two. I have been way too lazy to post the pics and do a write-up on how I did it.

Mine broke on my 06 at 12k miles. I dropped the glovebox door, took 3 fan screws out, pulled the fan and reached in there and got the broken door out. I put the fan back in and havent worried about it since. Stuff seems to be all working ok, even defrost and controls work normal in summer/winter.

Talking recirc door

With the part number here, I contact Chrysler Parts Center out in Kansas and they quoted the part at $38.00 plus $11.00 FEDEX. I would recommend them for parts as I did this for my leather seat and center console install.

Anyway, i'm going to try the fix as the dealer quoted $638 for the repair.
going at it today, never did see any pics from ratlrat, but i did buy the modified box from dodge and om gonna drop the dash, i will let you know....

I got started last evening, couldn't get the box out as one of the AC lines refused to release. Going out this morning to try and find a better quick release tool.

I think the hardest part of the whole process is getting the A/C lines off!

Finished mine up Sunday afternoon. Took almost 4 hours to get the one AC line disconnected. Rest of the job was fairly simple.

Does this issue affect 2007 and upward. I notice everyone with this issue has 2006 or earlier?
