Ok, so I've read through all the posts here and still have questions:
Can the recirc door be replaced without pulling dash?
IS there a way to just replace the door through the fan hole with the glove box removed for better visual? If so, how is it done?
OR, should I just accept the inevitable and follow the OP's write-up to replace the whole recirc door housing?

Many thanks,

J

I did look through the heatertreater info and am not quite ready to go through this process. I may kick myself in the future, but for now am just looking to fix the problem I've created and move on. I just need to replace the recirc door and charge my system.

Thanks,
J

None of my doors have broken yet, knock on wood. Just wondering why some snap and some don't. Surely not every truck has this problem, though it would seem so here. I am sure they will break the next time I switch them now.

I was quoted almost $60 here in central Tx. Would love to know where to find one of these assemblies for less than that.

Try...
http://dodgeparts.com/
http://www.moparonlineparts.com/
http://www.wholesalemopar.com/

You will need to call them...the PN is not searchable, i.e. no listing on their sites.

Went well....sorta.
Thanks to Chris's write-up, I was able to swap the recirc box out in about 2hrs 45min. Went smooth as silk...untill I tried to start the truck when done.

It turned over, began to start then quit. It now only turns over w/o firing up.
I went the all the wires at the steering colom and everything looked good.
The truck kept blowing fuse 28 which is part of the star circut.

It also shows th light that says the key is not a match.

I hooked up the Smarty JR and it wouldn't even connect to the truck.

So, the R&R per the instructions went great, and the truck was hauled off by the dealer wrecker which was an F650 wrecker......

First, this thread needs to be a sticky. You can use the heatertreater parts just like replacement parts, if you desire as I did for the mode 1 door and the recirc door. These are 100 times better than the factory crap, and not much price difference. The doors drop right in with the dash apart.

Hi I hate to bring this up again but just wanted to make sure that the new housing includes all new components. Our 03 & 04 both starting giving trouble and I'd like to replace the entire thing and be finished with it. Thanks
