HVAC control dash lights

The HVAC **** lights are extremely dim on my 04 dash. Is that normal? Yes, I have made sure it was not the dimmer switch. lol. If not, I would like to replace the light bulbs but do not want to inadvertently snap off any plastic clips removing the dash panel. Anyone have a diagram for removal of the HVAC/Radio dash panel? Thanks!

Don't know about the 03's but my 04.5 HVAC controller lights all burnt out and when I took the controller out I found that the bulbs were integrated into the circuit board = non-servicable unless you can remove them & re-solder them back in. PITA!!

Yep, Dodge even said non-servicable and that I would have to replace the whole controller to the tune of $130.00. I lived with the "BLACK HOLE" at night time, when I used to do most of my driving, till I traded it in. They said I might be able to find one out of junked truck, but when I checked they never had one - the truck was only 1 year old at the time but it had 150k miles on it.

fROM THE 05 SERVICE MANUAL.

The A/C-heater control cannot be adjusted or repaired and must be replaced if found inoperative or damaged. The illumination lamps for the A/C-heater control are available for service replacement (Refer to 24 - HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) and to 24 - HVAC Electrical Diagnostics for more information.

Dealer did not have bulbs in stock so I had to order them. Sure hope it is not a faulty hvac circuit board that is burning out the bulbs. Those are expensive.
