How to disable back up BEEPING?

This morning at 5:30 am I was backing up to my trailer. If the drivers side door is open and the truck is in reverse, when you let off the brake to back up the horn starts to beep. Is their any way to disable this feature. I guess DC does not want you to back up with your door open>

Not that I've seen.

It a safety feature, so even if they could, you wont find a dealer to do it.

I sure wish their was a way to disable it. The seat belt minder is safety feature and it can be disabled. Is their a tech reading this that can post on how to disable?

Fasten the seat belt or I just made a latch from plastic and keep on the counsel, stuff it in when it goes into panic mode!!!!!! PS could just use the center seat belt latch if D/C would have made it the same size!!!!

They make a seatbelt extender. These are free from the dealer, you just have to give them the VIN for the vehicle you plan to use it in.

Out smarting DC

Could you jumper the wires on the seat belt latch ? If you didn't want to make it permantly jumped, you could add a switch for it inline with your jumper wiring & mount it using a spring arm type micro switch on the trans linkage that would close the switch when you shift into reverse, (there by negating DC's brilliant plan to wake the neighborhood). I use similiar switches all the time to install back-up alarm beepers on forklifts & construction equipment. you'd just be doing it in reverse ! (pun intended !)

Man get the seat belt extenders they are free and your not causing warranty issues. Plus no seat belt light and beeping and easier to latch belt when you do want to wear it. I know they are free from Dodge and just got one for my Moms Ford 500 for FREE.
