How accurate is Insight?????

Hello,

I have been following my truck order on Insight after learning about it on this message forum. It is a great service! Does anyone know how accurate the dates are that are given on the Insight webpage? I am curious if my truck may arrive before or after the date stated on the site. My truck is scheduled to be loaded on a rail car right now! And should arrive at my dealer on the 17th of May. Any info would be greatly appericated!

I just received my truck last week and I found it to be very accurate. Was never off more then a day through the entire building and delivery process.

PapaPerk, Mine was loaded on rail car 4/17 and has been in bay at facility at port of Vera Cruz since 4/22 next stop Baltimore and then dealer 5/11. If you are in the NE our trucks may be taking the same cruise. So far it has been very close to schedule. Hope it stays that way.
NJTackle , I keep waiting to see yours around town.

As far as accuracy, mine was on schedule to the date. It was scheduled to be delivered to the dealer on 4/26, and was just that!!!

You were very very fortunate. Most see slippage after slippage for no apparent reasons. Some have had their trucks sit on the docks for close to a month before being hauled. Some members her have even gone to look on dealer lots rather then wait and wait and wait. Insight needs some "insight".

Mine had an ETA of 5/3 and it's sitting outside (now one day old).

Some come in early - others late. It seems not to be very precise.

Dead on. It seems that if you are on the east coast, it's a waste of time, but anywhere else it is a solid reporting tool........Just my experience.

Yeah, mine sat for like a month, then the dealer decided to drive to whereever it was stored and picked it up.

Insight just kept moving it back a day, every day.
But again, I'm an Eastcoaster so...

Thanks for the replies. Mine is not going by "barge" to Boston so hopefully I will get it when Insight says. Or maybe a little sooner!

12pack,

Truck is going to midwest dealer. Should be shipped to Centerville Il. by train and then trucked to dealer. I can't wait! Hope it runs better than last one! My old truck was awesome except for engine hesitation.
