'cause it does . ????

TRULY embarassing, been there done that. Don't know what year truck you have, but . .

Unlock your doors with the key from the outside dr door lock mechanism. It should stop. If it doesn't, then check your battery in the key. You must have hit the lock button on they key when you turned it on/off, that is usually what causes your problem. OR, you or someone else opened a door while in reverse at/just before shutdown.

My truck does the same if I use the wireless remote to lock it and stick a factory key in it to unlock. The door locks must not have the electronics in them to read the key but the igniition does have the ability to read the electronic key code. The alarm is only set as it seems with the wireless remote control even though it is all factory.

Using the key in the door lock will reset the alarm system.

On my 2008 unless you use the alarm button on the key to disarm it will go off. If you open or unlock the lock and door with just the key You get the honk honk honk

Don't know what year your truck is but most horn honks can be disabled with dealership scanners. Just bring your credit card because they will most likely charge you.

my '06 does that, it took me a while to figure it out, but it was embarrassing in the beginning. What I figured out was that if I lock it with the electronic door lock, or with the FOB, and open the doors from the inside or with the key in the door; the alarm will sound. If I lock the doors one at a time by hand, I can open the doors from inside, with the FOB and/or door lock switch, without the alarm going off. If I lock the doors with the switch or the FOB, and I am inside and try to start the truck; the Alarm will sound.

I have noticed while I was camping or going on a trip if I have anything in the hitch like a bike rack, the wind will move it enough to set the alarm off. At that point I just lock the doors by hand.

My Wife HATES the ALARM! (to say the least)

Is that what you are seeing on yours?

The first thing I said to the dealer when I bought it was "take the freaking alarm off". I hate the **** things and they do absolutely nothing but irritate everyone.
Rant over, I feel much better.

I am assuming that he does not have a remote for it. Hope its not a stolen truck.

WiskeyVI,
Yes, it has the remote/fob and for locks and the panic still works. I believe that the alarm is a plug in module to one of the on board computers.

I was able to turn the horn for the alarm off on my truck using the overhead, if memory serves you go into the personal settings section and you can turn the horn, light flash and entry lights all on and off. If you have an issue with your skim system or key fob it will still trigger the alarm but at least it will be silent.
