Unlocked TC on the dyno

How much power does a person lose when running a truck on the dyno without the TC locked up? I dynoed my 98 12v for the first time ever yesterday and did not have my mystery switch hooked up so I went in direct gear (od off) and unlocked. I did a blistering 324.8. On the good side of things I belched out so much smoke into the shop they had to take a 15 minute break to let the smoke clear! Mustang dyno if that matters.

John, back in 2003 I did a test on my dyno jet with my truck. I ran 2nd unlocked (286.6hp) 3rd unlocked (324.2) 3rd locked (379.3) and 4th locked (402.4)

Hope that will help a little anyway...

I did a run with a crappy aftermarket lockup converter locked and unlocked. Locked I did 250/730, unlocked it was around 190/450. Done with my 93 with a 47RH on a mustang dyno.

I was hoping for over 350 hp. My dyno number is what it is so I will save my excuses until next time! $3 mystery switch.
