Homelink and Uconnect??

Can you add a homelink type thing to these trucks?

What about adding u-connect or similar?

Avalability and installation discussion, please.

I replaced the overhead console with one from Ebay that Homelink. It works great.

The dealer installed the aftermarket Uconnect and it too works well. Diesels are noisy and all thee background noise seems to make it difficults for callers to hear.

Any issues with the mpg reading, or the distance to empty? I had heard on TDR that the u connect was the cat's meow and it was good at noise cancelling. I'm interested to hear more of your experience.

I have the U Connect from the factory and its the best thing I have ever seen....it sounds better than just talking regular.....It takes some getting use to but after a week you'll be a pro. Just make sure your phone is Bluetooth

For some reason I thought my truck came equipped with UConnect but apparently it did not. For those of you who have had it dealer installed, how much did it cost you? Would like to have it but curious on how much it's running. Thanks.

Talking

I installed the homelink system a few weeks ago. Here is a link to the post I wrote about it:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...light=HOMELINK

The only thing is that mine was shipped from the dealer with the fuel tank not listed right so after I had it installed, I had to take it down to the dealer and have them hook up to the truck and tell it that my fuel tank was 34 Gal. It only took them 5 minutes. The system works great!

As far as a phone connection, I installed a Pioneer AVIC AZ DVD Navigation System with XM, Bluetooth phone & a backup camera ! Boy is it nice!!!

as far as the dealer uconnect system. I have had it in for the past couple years. It was a pain to be in traffic and go through the gears and answer the phone. I know I should just ingore it, but who does.

Any way, originally I was happy with the system, now it does not seem to work as good. I have not tired the stock one. I will say the install was super easy. It contains all the correct wiring and make install a snap. I cant say if it works any better than any thing else.

jwhip, The Z1 system rocks, im jealous. did you have pics of your install? If it was not for the steering wheel controls I would be going that way sooner than later. Now I will wait for something to break in the stereo and then go that way.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures at this time. I'm trying to get everything ready for my upcoming elk hunt and just haven't taken the time. I'll try and let everyone know when I update my profile.
