high idle question

My 2004 3500 has the high idle feature when cold. It works well raising the idle to 1000 rpms during warm up when cold. Does this mean that the tsb 18-037-04 has already been done to my truck prior to delivery to me? I purchased this truck the first week of September 04.

Fill out your sig. If you have a 6 spd. It will kick on below around 18* ambient temp. If you have a auto, it will also kick on at same temp but you can also do it manually
if the tsb is done.

It most likely does not have the TSB done. One way to check is pop the hood and look for a sticker that they are requiered to put on if a computer reflash is done. It will have that TSB number on it. It should be in plain site. The trucks will idle up when it is cold to help warm up. All the new ones do that but the reflash is so you can do it manualy with the cruis control when ever you feel like. If you have a manual truck you cant get it though.

Does anyone know if the TSB Flash disables the automatic high idle feature? Or does it still allow that to work along with the manual adjustment with the cruise control?

Thnks for the info from a newbie.

Hondo, does your high idle feature work now?

If it does then or if you go in for the "flash" make sure you ask the technician to enable it or keep in enabled after the flash. Mine never worked before I had it done so I asked the guy to make sure that he turned it on, check it before driving away from the dealer.

One other thing, welcome to the site and please fill in your sig so we know what your driving.
