Help! went to the lake and somebody pulled off my cummins C badges.

i went to the lake today and somebody stole my cummins C badges and i already got all the adhesive off but the clear coat seems to be damaged and is a 3D outline. should i buff it? Any tips would be appreciated

I went ahead and pulled the rest of the badges off since this has been the second time this has happend to me only with another truck.

I tend to see alot of 2nd gens and 1st gens with these badges so it mustve been somebody that couldnt afford them.... ohh never mind. im kinda mad right now.

That is just crazy! I have never heard of somebody stealing "badges" off of a truck body. I don't blame you for being angry.

You can buy some new ones here if you want to replace them.

Good luck with it.

This has happened to you twice in two different trucks?? Hmm do you have the same friends now as you did then? Or an Ex with an axe to grind?

I can understand being mad. Its one thing if something is just sitting there, but why go through the trouble of removing it from the truck. I had a similar problem with people taking the ball assembly from my receiver hitch and it was bolted in,so I got fed up and welded it in. Some peoples kids.

If you are trying to get rid of the outline its going to be hard as the sun has been hitting the uncovered clear coat for some time. I would try to hand buff it with some different rubbing compounds. Start fine and go to extra fine, a machine will be faster and better but if you dont know what you are going you can burn through very fast. You really just trying to blend the clear coat and remove any debris in the outline that has been baked in. It wont be perfect but if its its clean it will help alot.

I buffed my "shadows" out using 3M buffing compound. My truck was 2 years old when I debadged it.

the first time this happened someone wanted the "Big Horn Edition" badges i had on my 05. i tried getting it off but it looks like whoever did it used a knife or something to help pry it off and the clear is damaged on the drivers side and on the passengers side they chipped the paint pretty good down to the gray looking primer. im going to have to put something over that again cause i just cant look at it the way it is.....shoot if they wanted them that bad i would of just gave them to whoever done it. Iam sure it was ateenager that wanted them for his truck.
