HELP==needed for a friend of mine

A friend of mine, with the exact truck as mine, had issues with the surge brakes and lighting connections of his boat trailer. He respliced some wires and reconnected others.

He got the lights to work, but now his ABS and EMERGENCY BRAKE lights are on in his dash, and they wont go out. I told him to park the truck for about 1/2 hr with both positive connections removed from the batteries, hopefully to reset something????

Anybody have any other ideas? Any help is appreciated.

The first thing he should do is make sure the brake lights still work on his truck and check all the fuses.

Thats what I told him...to check all the fuses. He said that he did that "as best he could". I cant meet with him till tomorrow or else Id check that issue. Could it be the ABS module or something else that fried that you could not see with just your eyes??

He just called me and added that his brake controller is flashing the code "NC" which it has also never done.

Also, the speedometer doesnt work.

Ok guys, we still need your help...

ABS and EMERGENCY BRAKE lights are on constantly...speedo doesnt work and the CEL is on now.

He used his Smarty jr to pull the following codes: 2509 and PC121.

I did some searching and found some with this problem, but no real fix for it. It all started when he plugged in his boat trailer wiring which may have fried something. Again, any help would be appreciated.

I can't say for sure but I thought in the 2007 they went to some cam buss system on the lighting and it is extremely sensitive and caused all kind of problems when hooking up as gooseneck in bed plug and would fry some controler.

If they boat had a shorted wire or light it could have cause the problem. IT should be fused but if i remember the issue some time the fuse wouldn't protect it.

Not a 100% on the year they switched to the sytem or if this would even apply.

Well, the Smarty cleared the 2509 code but the pc121 code clears and comes back instantly. He has an appt with the dealer now. Hes out of warranty, so we will see....

Was searching the PC121 code. Curious what the solution was? I had this very exact thing happen to me this weekend!
