headlight switch wiring diagram for aux lights

I have a 2008 Ram Quad Cab Diesel ST.

it didn't have factor fogs etc. I have installed a set of KC fog light and a set of KC driving lights. They get power in the ignition on position only. Issue is that you have to accuate them from a seperate dash switch on/off.

What I would like to have them operate that when the power switches are on....the fogs are on with low beam and driving lights come on with high beams only (driving lights are off when you are on low beam).

Not sure how to accomplish this....might figure it out if I had a wiring diagram of the headlight switch.

Anyone done this? Know how to accomplish this

Thanks

Dave

ps. here is a photo of it.

actually your stock fogs should be on only when in low beam and off when in high.

i can get you a wiring pin out of the switch when I get home. for some reason, dealerconnect pics are not coming up on this computer.

here is the pin out of the switch. the number 1. 2. 3. etc is the cavity position of the plug.

1 L116 20WT/LG HEADLAMP/FOG LAMP SWITCH SIGNAL
2 E2 20OR/BR PANEL LAMPS DIMMER SIGNAL
3 L115 20WT/YL HEADLAMP SWITCH RETURN
4 E19 20OR/BR HEADLAMP SWITCH DIMMER SIGNAL
5 Z407 20BK/OR GROUND
6 L914 20WT/LG CARGO LAMP SWITCH SIGNAL

The L116, E2, L115, E19, Z407, L914 are the circuits

20WT/LG = 20 gauge wire, white with light green stripe etc....

I have driving lights that come on with my high beams. I tapped power from the hot wire on the high beam to power a relay that runs the power to the driving lights. Of course everything is fused!

thanks cbrahs....that should help

all my previous trucks had fogs on low and driving lites on high beam....when you activated the toggle switches they were hot and one set or the other was on depending if you were in high beam or low beam....worked well. In our state only one set of aux lites can be on at any time so this is a workable set up.

the harnesses are the same (under the dash), the headlight switch is the only difference. with factory fogs, or without. so you should be able to tap into the harness with the wt/lg wire to toggle and activate your fogs

Cbrah's

maybe I am dumb (good chance if you ask many) but can you tell me what pins would be the low beam and high beam....those are the ones I believe I would need to create the control activation for my lamps....based upon what I am reading I am not seeing clearly which ones of that switch pin setup I would use for my intented purpose.

any help greatly appreciated

hope you understand my plan.

Dave

let me look. that is going to be a different connector. you want the wires at the multi function switch or at the headlight?

headlamp on the drivers side

1 L43 20WT/DB LEFT LOW BEAM DRIVER
2 Z345 20BK/LB GROUND
3 L33 20WT/LG LEFT HIGH BEAM DRIVER

Multifunction switch

1 G194 20VT/LG WASH/BEAM SELECT SWITCH SIGNAL
2 L900 20WT/YL WIPER/TURN/BEAM SELECT SWITCH RETURN
3 L12 20WT/OR TURN LAMPS SWITCH SIGNAL
4 W52 20BR/YL INTERMITTENT WIPER SWITCH SIGNAL

looks like your best bet would be to tap off of headlight wiring with a relay to actuate your other lights.
