Hankooks on Dually

I just had these installed today. They ride nice. $1,160 and some change at Discount out the door. I'm posting these in case any of you are considering a set of Hankooks on your dually. I got a 50K mile mileage warranty, road hazard, and the usual lifetime balance and rotation.

They're the Dynapro ATMs. Made in Korea. I'll see how they handle a load when I pull my big horse trailer or my 5th wheel in a couple of weeks. They sure ride nice empty.

I got the ATMs a few months ago and I had the shop take them right back off. They were the worst handling tires I ever had. My truck wandered like it had a mix of bias and radial. Craig

Hope that doesn't happen to me. So far, so good. I'll post more after I tow with them and drive the Dodge to our ranch (about 260 miles away).

You would know right away. I knew in 2 miles. It was a little breezy when I left the tire shop and it took a conscious effect to keep it going straight. It felt like I was in mud when I accelerated hard - the back end didn't know which way to go. I could whip the wheel left and right, hard, and it felt like the tires were nearly flat. My old, worn out, Mastercrafts still drove like it was on rails so I knew the truck was fine. Craig

I have the RF10's on mine and I love them. They ride nice empty, are great to tow with, off road traction and traction in winter conditions are good. Would highly recommend!

I put some miles on them yesterday late afternoon, city driving and highway speeds. They ride much better than the OE General Ameritracs I had on the truck. I'm very happy with them so far. I also noticed that they didn't take much weight to balance out. I'll tow with them 1st week in September and see how they do there. I really like them.

that's been my experience with Hankooks and Toyos although I'd like to buy and American tire, I may try Firestones next time. I won't have a Goodyear on anything I own although I know others like them

Firestone and Bridgestone had a "buy 4 get one free" promotion going on here in Arizona. I assume it's nationwide. I strongly considered both the Firestone AT and the Bridgestone Duravis. Watching the crackheads in the Firestone shop here made me think twice. I didn't want them working on my truck, rotating my tires later, or touching anything I own. The tire dept. manager was a terrific guy, but the dudes doing the work looked like they belonged on a chain gang.

Discount had a clean operation, and I've had good luck with them on rotations, repairs, etc. That was the deciding factor for me in the end (tire prices being similar).

I was talking to an auto transporter in Idaho the the day. He had the RF10s on his dually. He said he was really impressed with the Hankooks. He gets about 70,000 out of a set. He said he buys them 12 at a time from Discount Tire Direct.
