Nittos? Hankooks? Or...?

This is my first time posting and I thought maybe y'all could give me some feedback. It's about time to get some more tires on my 2WD 3500 SRW truck and I've narrowed my choices to Hankook DynaPro ATm RF10'S, Nitto TerraGrapplers or Nitto DuraGrapplers. I'm leaning towards the Hankooks. These are all Load Range E tires in 285/70R17. Stock size is 265 but it looks like there is plenty of room for the extra 1" in dia. The specs look good but my question is... Has anyone ran any of these for any amount of time in the real world? I'd like to know how they wear and any first hand info from anyone that has used them. Any replies will be welcomed. Thanks guys!

Out of all the tires we've run on our crew trucks, Toyo Open Country AT's have been the best to us. Haven't tried the Hankook DynaPros but the Hankook Ventus' an employee had on his 22" wheels were garbage. We've also tried Hankook DH01's on our heavy trucks and they wore out in a hurry (we stick with Michelin now).

Just my recommendation but I'd try the Toyos. They're not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. The Nitto Terra Grapplers would be my second choice after the Toyo's.

The nittos wear quick, and I had an unexplained flat at 6,000 miles. I love how they look, but they just don't fit my ticket. Get the Toyos, if I had a chance to do it again they would be the ones.

I had a set of Hancook A/T 10 ply and only got @45K out of them. I was expecting more, but for the price I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the replys, guys! I checked out the Toyo's and that may be the way I go. So now I have another question...
I can get the Toyo in a 285/75 which is 2" taller than my stock 265/70... will I have any rubbing with the extra rubber? It will also change my effective rear gearing from 3.73 to 3.50. Any thoughts there?
Thanks again!

The 285/75/17 will fit the stock truck just fine on stock wheels. You can go to the 315/70/17 and only then get rubbing on the inside at full turn. With H2 wheels even the 315s will not rub.

I'm just about to get a set of the Toyos too. They are heavy in the E series though, 67 lbs each!

His truck is 2wd, I don't think he'll be clearing 315s, without a sawzall.

i have hankook dynapro m/t's .... got them begining of the summer have 11k on them and they are wearing great. i did use innovative balancing beads so that may help out their life... we'll see i guess but i'm happy so far. and i got them for $450 for all 4 in 295/75/16 (and they do rub on my 98) but i have aftermarket wheels

i have those hankook dynapros right now and im not too impressed. they do great in the mud but are junk on ice or wet pavement. long trips on the highway they get real hot and the side walls turn colour and get soft too. i suggest hankook dynamics, i had them before and they were the best tire ever. i drove through pallet fires and everything withthem

There's the rating I'm looking for! Forget mileage and load range. How many pallet fires will they go through? Let me see if I can find that on the side of the tire. Hmmmm. I don't see it. That is severe duty!

Thanks Cowboy,

John

I second that motion on the Nitto's they wear too qiuck. I only got about 20,000 out of them on a 295/70/17. I'm now running a procomp xtreme A/T tire 35/12.50/17 and love them, the pattern looks good and from what they say 40,000 mile tread life if taken care of. This is my first post so tring to give some other ideas for tires b/c I went through the samr thing when buying new.
