Headlight Short
Headlight Short
Did a search, but never been good at the whole google thing, sorry in advance. Nothing really pertained to my issue.
This is the second time I've had this, my driver's side headlight (daytime/low beam) is out again. The last time this happened, it was during winter and I figured it was the just 1/2" of ice over the lens. Week or so later, the light came by on.
It happened again a week ago and today, tried changing the bulb. To no success. I tried two brand new bulbs and I have the same result as the old one. High beams work on all the bulbs, low beams do not. Passenger side has no issues at all. Turn signals also have no issues.
Is there any common short circuit locations? Per say, right at the module to plug the bulb in? Electrical: Not my strongest point.
Truck is a 2007 2500.

Blast and Dont: Hello, I cant help because I am mechanically inept but like some weird village idiot I like to let people know that their posts have been seen. Also, I remind people to fill out their complete signature so the guru's on this site can see everything about your truck at a glance which might jog their memory regarding a similar problem.
I went to advance search (on this site) and typed in “driver headlight” and came up with a whole evenings worth of reading. One thing that madhat recently taught me was the value of swapping parts. Such as swapping the taillight assemblies or headlight assemblies from side to side. I know you cant install them reversed but you can use them to figure out if it is a bulb, harness or connector problem.

Well I figured out my problem. Turns out when your headlights burn out, the could break up to four error codes. Some of those codes reset on their own, some need to be reset. Basic code readers don't seem to pull them up either. Took the dealer's reader to find and reset my codes. Just an FYI for some.
