Going In for Warranty...

To take care of leak for 4th time (no, it's not the cab lights). Last fix lasted just barely over 1 year . Anyway, will I get charged another $100? Also, the cassete in my sterio does not work. Will that be another $100, or will $100 cover all warranty issues for the visit?

What "leak"? On an 04.5 why would you be charged on a leak, unless it's not engine related, or you are over the initial warranty and it's not engine related. I didn't know you could order a cassette stereo in 04.5.What am I missing here?

It is a water leak under the pedals. The charge would be the $100 deductable for warranty work. as far as a cassette - I got one with my truck.

Mark- does that happen when you wash it at a car wash, or is it from rain, or both?

Happens all the time. Happens so much that I can't isolate. Definitely happens when driving & it's raining or snowy/slush roads. Also happens when ice is melting on hood/roof. It took them four tries last time to fix it, and apparently, the fix was only good for a year.

I assume you have the DC extended warranty because you would be paying for all or none of this work otherwise. To answer your question, I asked exactly that of my salesman as he was pitching the extended warranty to me. $100 is the maximum deductible for any single visit or issue. 1 visit with 5 different issues is $100. 5 visits for the same 1 issue is $100. I hope this helps, and good luck.

I thought that the 2004.5s had the 7/70 bumper-to-bumper. Is this not so?

Nope, 7/70 powertrain only and a $100 deductible applies after 3/36.

Luke S, What about teh fact that the original problem was never fixed in the first place. Took them four tries - the first time I took it in was in Nov05 & truck was well within the 3/36. The fourth attemp was 1/26/06 - still within the 3/36. This fourth attemp lasted a little less than one year & now it leaks the exact same way! In my opinion the real problem was never fixed!

Whenever it rains/snow/have we roads my truck leaks under the pedals. Looks like it is dripping from behind the instrument cluster on the brake & clutch pedal & down to the floor.

Did they try re-sealing the windshield? Could it be leaking on the lower driver's side of the windshield?

It could even be worth trying a new windshield from a very reputable glass company if resealing, or extra sealant is all they tried the last time?? I wonder what they did that helped for a year. Maybe the original windshield is slightly off shape(ie. warped?).

I would take it to a windshield glass place first. Our civic had a leak and had problems getting it fixed, finally took it to a glass shop and they found a gromlet around the hood latch installed incorectly. The carpet was soaking wet. When we finally got it fixed I had to take all the seats and carpet out one weekend. With out the independent $65 test it would never would have been fixed. I would make them dry it out when they get it fixed. LOL.
