What kind of chip that can be removed when going to get warranty???

So far the only one I found that's really easy to take out is the "predator".

Any suggestions?

Also I was what other mods help the chips, does exhaust etc. make that big of a difference?

Yeah I have a suggestion. Find a dealer that will warranty your truck with a chip. Removing one for warranty work to hide it from DC is fraud.

You need to go talk your service manager and ask him these questions that way you know where you stand with them concerning the warranty issue.

One of the questions I had asked when I was shopping around for my truck was if the dealer was mod friendly as some are and some are not.

I was told by the diesel mech at the dealer it kinda of depends on what the mods are. The main thing that I remember him telling me is that Cummins would immediately void the warranty if you put a K&N filter on your truck.

Ya most dealers I know are rediculous with mods, they won't allow anything.

a-peep, just got my predator and magnaflow system from my dealer. Matter of fact he came to me with this big grin on his face telling me how he had just done his truck and they'll honour the warranty too! As for other dealerships warrantying it, probably not ... I guess that's one way for him to keep my business!

Alberta's a long way to have my truck towed if something goes wrong.

So why would someone go with the Edge EZ over the Predator... and vice versa?

Also, do they both have levels you can change by just a switch or do you have to upgrade the whole unit?

It might be interesting for some of you to read through this thread. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=244825
He had a chip, and removed it before taking it in for warranty. The dealer could tell he had a chip on it, and denied the warranty. Luckily as it turns out the engine is fine, just the turbo and intercooler are destroyed. He's got twin turbos going on it now.

It is one thing to have your local dealer agree that some mods will not destroy the warranty. How about when you are in the boonies and something goes capute and you deal with another dealer? Makes you double think.
