Gear lube prices!!!!!??!!!! WOW!

I am almost up on my gear lube change interval. I use amsoil 75/140 but thought I would shop and see if Mobil 1 or Valvoline were competitive in price... At my local NAPA, Kragen, and Pepboys it was 17.99-18.50 PER QUART! I am an AMSOIL prefered customer and the Severe Gear 140 is only 11.45 a quart!!! I always read how expensive AMSOIL is, Not in this case!!! AMSOIL it is!!!!

I recently found this out also...

Full synthetic name brand Penzoil, Castrol, etc 75W-140 was about Cdn$20/liter (US quart) at the local auto shop or Canadian Tire stores.

Red Line 75W-140 was just over Cdn$10/liter at a local high performance store (Mopac). I bought plenty extra at that price.

Almost sounds like an info*mercial.

Just changed the front & rear differentials in my wife's 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD and used some 75W140 Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic.......$14.09/quart in my neck of the woods. Only about 2 months ago I remember it being about $2.00/quart less.

I think I am going to go with AMsoil 75/110 this time. I do drive in a hot climate but will only be towing here locally. I like to have a little more than the 75/90, but I can tell a difference when I put the 140 in it!! Good to know it's not just me on the fluid prices!

Good choice, I am also going with the Amsoil 75W-100 over the 75W-90

Just dropped over 200 in Amsoil. Doing the the oil, filters, diffs, tranny, and transfer. I am a preferred customer with Amsoil. It would be more if I had to have it shipped, but I live close to a warehouse.

Hey roperteacher, I'm using Amsoil 75w90 and about to switch to the 75w140. I was wondering what you ment by, (I can tell the differance between to too).

I just stopped by the Amsoil warehouse and picked up the new Bypass kit for my 6.7. (BMK-25) Hopefully, I'll have it it this weekend.
