After market clearance lamps?

Has anyone installed (or had installed) aftermarket clearance lamps? I wanted them on the truck when I bought it, but the truck that I was dealing on didn't have them. Was curious if anyone has them and if they work out or if they leak, how big of a pain in the **** they are to put on, etc. Brands? Thoughts? Thanks!

RECONS for me. been on for a year, no leaks, no problems. use sillycone on the holes when installing them. wire tap the wire on the passenger side A-Pillar (don't remember what color, you can use a test light and turn lights on/off to find it) white plug down the bottom of the pillar.

Did they come with any sort of a template to get them lined up and spaced correctly, or were you on your own to measure all that out and get them on yourself? How long did it take you to install? Thanks!

Anyone else? Good, bad, or otherwise?

the do not come with the template. I have a buddy who works for Dodge and we used the dodge template, removed the A,B,C pillars, headliner, taped the template up, taped the lights to the template and drilled away.

this is the template and my buddy helping me install.

Those look great. How long did it take you guys to complete the project? Guess that could be a great winter project to do in my old man's shop this winter . . . as it looks a little too involved for me to tackle by myself in the garage.

It's actually a really easy job, the thing that took the longest was laying out the template (at least for me it was, because I wanted it perfect) Dropping the headliner took 20 minutes putting it back up took 7 minutes, the rest is cake.

I would suggest using a greenlee tool to punch out the bigger center holes for the plugs and wires, it makes a very clean hole.

the job took about 1 1/2 hours. I am **** on wiring. All non insulated connectors with heat shrink and fabbed up our own harness. We used a uni-bit to make the larger hole (but it wasn't that large since we cut RECON's connector off to fab our own harness). used a spring punch to get the dimple for the holes so it would not walk across the roof! LOL
