Full size spare and trailer package

I recently ordered a new 3500 SLT with the new 6.7 engine. When I placed the order, two of the options I requested are the trailer towing package and a full size spare. Today I was at the dodge.ca website (my 6 year old wanted to see the new truck we were getting) and when I built the truck it would not allow a full size spare with the trailer towing package. Is that an error at the website? if not, that would su** as I am planning on using the truck off road occasionally and want to have a real spare. My current 96 Ram 1500 has both of those options.

They are probably standard features on the truck.

I think the chassis/cabs are the only ones that would have a problem, due to the fuel tank being mounted where the spare tire is mounted on the previous trucks...

Maybe they changed the location of the tank on the 6.7s?

its apparently a glich on their website, because I too was surprised by this when I was playing around building some trucks on that site. I was dropping some freight at a dodge dealer the other day and took a gander at the new trucks. All but one had the tow pkg and every one of them had full sized spare tires.

Thanks for passing on the info, I feel better now.

ya I have both also....all do not come that way though... the service manager was arguing with me...telling me that 'MY' truck didn't have a full size spare...'Because they don't come that way"

stay away from Deluca in Haverhill ma...they delivered my truck(which they picked up on the canada border) with 40 pounds of air in all the tires (idiots)

Dodge Web site

I know that the website has issues. I could not build on their site the truck I drove off the dealers lot. It would not allow the Forged rims, Laramie pkg and SRW options all together. And I got the tow pakg and full size spare without a problem.

Make sure you put a lock on that spare....
Any crook worth his salt could have that off your truck in less than 10 seconds with a cordless drill and a square drive bit.

I learned that lesson the hard way.

Has to have a full size spare. Mainly because it is 4x4 (is it?) and if not that than because a full size spare is needed in case the truck's tire blows out while towing or hauling a load. Could you picture a donut spare on a pickup pulling a 14K lb fiver with 1700 lbs of pin weight? That'd be pretty scary lol.
