I checked with my dealer today and they want $134 for the plate. He didn't say anything about the cross member, so thanks for mentioning it here. I'd like to find it cheaper somewhere, but shipping may make it a wash.

Thanks again guys for the numbers. An hour's labor isn't bad. I'll sleep a lot better after the install.

Very cheap back country insurance.

The cross member part number is 52022046AD (not three 2's in a row). Shop around--I got prices of $134, $119 and $117 for the shield at 3 different dealers. Thanks for the note about the extra bolts.

How about someone posting some pictures when they get it installed.

Guys, sorry if I misled anyone on the tank guard. When I got mine I wasn't told about the cross member and hole drilling/bolts, dealer parts guy said he ordered all I needed, "just drop it in". I've had mine sitting in the garage since purchase and was surprised when I revisited this thread. I'll have to order the rest of the parts before it gets put on. (It is only a 5* dealer). Again sorry for any confusion.

The dealer had to drill 5 holes. Two on each side of the frame for the cross brace and one on the frame for the outside brace. The other for the brace was there. There are 10 bolts needed all the same size.
