fuel guage

Anybody know why after a fill up sometimes the tank guage goes all the way to the stop pin and sometimes it comes up short.

I always fill up till the pump stops...wait a few minutes and squeeze the nozzle again until it stops again just to be sure it's full.

anybody?

Jamie

Are you always using the same pump. Some pumps auto shutoff is more sensitive than others. Only reason I can think of.

my gauge is crazy......it takes 90 miles after i fill up for it to go from empty with the light on to ful then it bounces back and forth until it gets to 3/4 or 1/2 and then it will read steady kinda annoying but i aint ever ran it dry.

After the pump clicks off, I can almost always put in another 2 gallons, sometimes as much as 5.
Sometimes it doesn't foam much, other times there seems to be more foam than fuel.

The only way to be sure it is "full" is fight the foam until you can see fuel in the filler neck.

There is a TSB for this problem. Check with your dealer so they can FLASH it
