factory idea for guages

Check out the cubby hole /guage replacement the way the factory should have done it in my photo gallery. Any input is welcome.

Looks nice. However, for those of us with ESOTF and bun warmers, we'd have to relocate those controls to get them in there.

Hmmm. . . . this post intrigued me. During lunch I went out and took a look. It appears that even on the Laramie w/bun warmers, there are two dummy switches in the middle - appearing to be room enough for just one guage.

Does anyone make a single, dual-readout guage that does tranny temp and egt - preferable white-faced to match? Turbo boost is nice but on a stock or close-to-stock truck, it isn't as critical as the others mentioned. I suppose another approach would be to relocate the bun warmer switches - but that sounds like work.

Thanks,
Neil

Westach makes several dual readout white faced guages. Some are available at Geno's.

As a tip for anyone that might htink about marrying a custom guage mount/face-w-the center section (or any "hard" part of the dash) look to a custom audio installation co. as a source for some ABS sheet material. This is what the plastic is and will make like a lot easier. I used plexiglass and it was a major setback but by the time I found out I had "too much in the pot to fold".

When is somebody going to come out with a 3 gauge pillar mount for the 3rd gens? I really don't need the grab handle!!!!

Check out Geno's Garage. They have what you want.

Actually they don't. It will not work on the 04+ rigs - only the 03's. Geno's paid for my replacement stock A-pillar after I cut off the handle and then found out that the pod was designed for the 03. Check out the other thread on this subject - it is several pages long - no need to re-hash.

I agree except, the factory should have put the gauges a little higher. (where the air and heat controls are)
And the heat and air controls should be where the cubby hole is.
That would make it a littler easer to read the gauges.
That is a very good looking installation though. I have seen a lot of pictures with three gauges there but I think this is the first I have seen with four. Looks real good.

I put one gauge on a SRT-10 Pillar, and two on the stearing column. If I ever add a fourth, I guess It will have to go where the cig. lighter is.

Autometer makes something similar with guages to go along with it.. but its a 3 guage pod and they are angled to face the driver. I will probably end up with those in my new truck, but yours look way sweet.

Thanks for all the feedback. When (if) I redo mine I will angle them. This would be easy to do-w-wedges of materialgoing ffrom nothing to maybe 3/4" and add a lot to the readability. I really would like to change the whole thing over to ABS but have toooooooo many irons in the fire and a sone playing/practicing highschool baseball, basketball and football from now till schhol starts and he is too young to drive.

I wish they would make a two guage piller similiar to the SRT but side by side. Just mold in another gauge spot to the left of original. It is just dead space there because the the plastice on the inside of the mirror obstructs the view already. It would be having your cake and getting to eat it too. Free space! Maybe someone from Geno's could work on this? I would put a DiProcal boost next to my EGT...
