KingofDodge, I was in the same boat when I got my truck last year. I had a 98 dually and didn't see the need for the extra wheels anymore so I got the SRW 3500. I love the truck but now I'm thinking about going into the hauling business and I wish I would have gotten the dually.

Yeppers
thats the boat im in now. Im about to graduate from a Diesel Tech Program to be a Mechanic. And god knows where that will take me. And hte daully might be the option a few years. and the way its lookin ( got smart to do the math) its a exrtra 80 dollars over 10k. Assuming i can pull 19 with the dually in iowa speed limits of 55 and pullin 21 with the swr. So not a big wopper

But now if i only get 16 with the dually ( which pry is more reasonable) and 23 with the swr (seems kinda like a strech) the diffrence is 325 dollars. GRRRRR
thanks for the help though

When I bought mine new in 99 I wanted a dually but my voice of reason (wife) pointed out that I didn't need one. Now I NEED one bad hauling as much as I am now. My next truck will be a dually. I hate to give mine up now it's almost broke in now! I'm about to do the first oil change this weekend

Looks like you answered your own question. If it will have a bedroom slide you are definitely going to need a dually. I get 19 solo with mine driving reasonably and 11 pulling some awesome weight. I don't think the fuel economy will be an issue for you. Better to have the right truck suited for the job. FWIW

Yup, bedroom slide adds a lot of pin weight.
