Drove an 04 yesterday

Found a used truck dealer with some some decent deals; he had an 04 CTD 4door 4x4 that drove like a sports car; decent price at 25,800 but it had 100,000 miles on it already; yeah, I know the truck can handle it, but I'd rather be the one that turns the odo over at that mark. Am I right, or just being over cautious? It also had a goosneck, so I don't know how much it pulled around. Other than that, it was spotless, even underneath, as I climbed all around it. Needless to say, if it is not that truck, it will be one just like it. I'm sold on Cummins!

25800 for an 04 is overpriced with those miles!!! I just bought an 04.5 HO 600 series quad 4x4 ctd with 50k on it for 25k its loaded with all the toys of a slt. Infinity stereo, electronic 4x4 all the goodies. It even has the 4:10 rear end so I can win some of the off the line battles when cty driving. Go to edmunds and click on the link to buy used cars. The select the advanced feature. You can narrow down the search then to engine 4x4 color if you like. But as I was looking I found a 04 dually with 65k on it for 23.5. Nice looking truck. But I didn't want a dually. So stay away from a truck completely out of warranty for that money

This is one of trucks I looked at. It is listedon their website for 24.6k and that is bottom dollar. It was a nice truck. I just didn't want the light color interior. But it had extra toys like remote starter and some other nice extras. I want the truck for plowing not towing so the long bed with quad cab swayed me away from this truck. The dually was around the corner at Melrose Dodge. That pulled a horse trailer. I guessed they owned a show horse. And by the smell of the truck when I looked at it(the day it got traded) They were not lying. But check out this truck and this site. Great deals found here

I bet you could score a new 06 for $29,000!

These trucks aren't really worth buying used in my area.

My now used 06 Quad 4x4 dually CTD Private Party books for $6,000 MORE than I paid for it new.

Thanks for the input. An 06 is presently out of my budget. I agree with the mileage thing; I can do better, so I'll keep on looking. Thanks.

I bought an 03 with 25k that obviously towed heavy - holes for a 5er hitch, airbags and the paint was well worn off of the ends of the OL springs. I figured it couldn't be hurt much in 25k miles...wrong! The engine is great but the 6sp needed serious work and the diff is really hurting. I think it's 03 and 04 that have 7/70 drivetrain. I'd buy one that had some of that left but it's still a royal battle getting warranty work done. After what I just went thru, I'd pass on that truck. Craig

Employee Pricing

Here in San Diego a 2500 QC LB 4wd with a MSRP of $42,985 is listed at $34,435 before bickering if there's any room. No farm bureau or nothing. That's an '06. G-56 tranny Big Horn. Pretty steep discount.

I would check out AUTOTRADER.
Found my 04 30K mi. very clean and no towing for 26k.
Not the greatest deal but good for me.

There are always the guys that say they got some great deal on their trucks,(23k for an 05 4x4) Im not calling them liars but I have never seen one.
