Door weatherstrip torn already?

I thought I had seen a post about the weatherstripping getting torn where the door rubs on it but I couldnt find it? I only have 600mi on my 05 2500 and have a big chunk already missing. I assume this is common? Does the dealer have a fix?

Thanks for the info

TACOOK .. Did you have your truck built?? I find it weird, My truck was built in April/May, and when I picked it up in June, it already had the re-vised seals on it. You say your truck only has 600 Miles on it, so Im guessin you havn't had it for long. Just wondering if it was an older built model that was sitting on the lot for a while with the older seals. Good luck

Mine lasted about 2500 miles, I think there was a TSB on them, just take it in to the dealer, they should take care of it. The new weatherstripping doesn't look any different, but they must be a slightly different material, no rips, no tears yet.

I agree with runamuck, the new seals are completely different. The new seals have been redesigned to prevent the doors from rubbing the seals. Just had mine replaced a 2-3 weeks ago.

No, I didnt have it built........ found almost the last 05 in Phoenix. I have no idea when it was built, but the seal is the same all the way along the length. Im going in for my 2nd free gas fillup at the dealership on Sat, Ill have them take a look.

Thanks for the heads up
