disable auto door locks ?

saw a thread in the 2nd gen section a feature that lets you shut off the auto door locks...... I absolutely hate the fact that the dang truck locks the doors after a set mph/ distance whatever....... you know the fealing, get out of the truck, walk around the other side and the dang door is locked...... how many times has this happened to you ? and isn't there a way to stop it ? someone must know the trick to this.

On my '07, if the doors are locked, and I open one of them, it automatically unlocks all of the doors. Is yours different?

On my 06 the auto lock feature can be disabled, instructions are in the manual, if I remember right. So, maybe check your owner's manual?

I went to the dealer with my 03 and they disabled it, that stupid lock system would get me mad. I'd go to get the kid out of the passenger side realize the door is locked and my keys are still in the truck walk back around to the drviers door and unlock everything and then walk back to get the kid out. but everything is good now

I think they lock at 14mph. Check your owners guide. I believe it gives you a procedure to disable it.

yes it is in the owners manual, as well as other neat features like disabling the seat belt chime and the horn chirp.

Q. How many times do you have to do a double trip to open the passenger side door before you learn to unlock all the doors before you get out of the truck?

A. I'm not sure exactly how many times (I'm not there yet) but I'm darn sure it is over 1,000 times...

I disabled the door lock and seat belt chime on my '05 by simply following the instructions in the owner's manual. I like the horn chirp. It lets me know the truck is locked.
