Cutoff date for new order?

Anyone have a definitive answer on this date? The dealer where I think I'll get the best deal is a bit wishy-washy on it; they, of course, want me to come in and order sooner rather than later.

Re:Cutoff date for new order?

Joel, what dealer are you going to? Usually the cutoff is late May, and set by the corporate offices, with about 3 - 4 weeks notice given to the dealerships. I would think the dealerships would know here pretty quick what the cuttoff date is. I'll contact my dealership here this morning to see if they have a date yet.

My dealer told me around 5-15-03 but they had not gotten the final word from corporate..

He may seem wishy washy because he doesn't know for certain...No dealer does(I know because I am one)..don't delay on your order. You can go order it tommorow and there's no gauruntee it will get built. Go order it and hope it goes "D" in 2 or 3 days. There already is a shortage of them due to the paint problems..it ain't gonna get better.

Re:Cutoff date for new order?

Cutoff is a mystery, but it is probably not too far off. I ordered mine 4/29, it went D 4/30 and D1 5/1. The dealer mentioned they have been "looking for orders". Tentative build date is 3rd week of May, but my dealer and DC both said "don't count on it". Any customer truck that has to be rebuilt because of the paint problems gets pushed to the front of the line.

I try to look on the bright side - the incentives might improve by the time it comes in - 0% for 60 months would be nice (but I'm not holding my breath) ;D

Re:Cutoff date for new order?

I've been talking to a guy at Grapevine Dodge. He did say sometime mid-may so I guess I was malinging him wrongly.

Yeah, 0% for 60 months would push me over the edge. Wife's not completely sold on the idea but I think she'd go for it at 0%/60 months.

I'd like to see if I can get a hold of one - QC LB - to drive for a day; a spin around the block doesn't really tell me everything I want to know about it. Maybe I'll try this weekend....
Re:Cutoff date for new order?

Now they just announced a $210 price increase effective May 5th...if you had your order in before the 5th u would be price protected.

Re:Cutoff date for new order?

My dealership is now advertising 0%/60 months on Ram pick-ups, so check the Dodge web-site to see if that is corporation-wide; if it is, I would order immediately or even better, do a dealer locate.

Re:Cutoff date for new order?

I'm being told by my dealer the 0% at 60 months is for the 1500 trucks only. Is this true?
