Can a 2004.5 3/4 ton short bed be used to pull a 5th wheel?

Thinking about buying a fiver.

Is the short bed too short for the hitch?

Any other issues?

Thanks for any info!

You can tow a fiver. You will need a sliding hitch for tight turns though.

I pull a 5ver with a shortbed. I have a pullrite hitch. Well worth the extra money.

Same as 06 pull one all the time with my short bed. I also second the Pullrite slider hitch which moves to the rear 14 inches in tight turns or backing. You can go cheaper with a manual slider but the automatic one gives you so much more peace of mind. You only have to forget to use the manual once and you will have more of an expence than the extra cost of a Pullrite.

I pull a Glendale Titanium with a short bed with just a standard hitch. No problems. Tight spots haven't been an issue, can't quite jackknife it and you do have to be careful, but if you want to save a lot of money....

Be careful of your kingpin weight - - you can exceed 3/4 ton ratings really quick. NOt like a travel trailer.

I agree with the others on the Pullrite hitch. Keep checking the classifieds here, your local paper, craigslist etc. until you find one. They can be bought for a reasonable price if you keep looking. That's what I did. A friend of mine bought one for $200 a couple of weeks ago that came with everything he needed.
While you certainly can pull it with a manual slider, with the Pullrite you never have to worry about forgetting to slide it that one time.
