I'm getting air flow at the floor but I cannot get air flow through the dash and defroster. I can hear some movement as I rotate the dial.
2005 2500 Diesel. Is there a vac system that operates the direction of flow?

 

Welcome to the broken defrost door club. You will have to have it fixed. If under warranty the dealer will do it for you, but if not. You will have to pull the whole dash to get to the heater and fix it.

 

Yep...............mine broke at about 20,000 miles. Luckily under warranty and was replaced by dealer. Good luck on getting it fixed!!!

 

Thanks - for replys I'm a 2005 Purchases July 2005 with 32K miles. I hope this is a warranted item.

 

It is covered under the 3 year 36k bumper to bumper warranty.

 

What if your not under warranty anymore, anyone have a how to on what you need to fix and how? I checked my recirc door and it still works good but my control on where it come out(vent, floor, mixed, deforst) has a mind of its own and will work when it wants.

Your going to need the defrost plate-chry#5086718aa.Tsb 24-004-02 covers replacement procedure-a little more difficult that a recirc housing,but dooable

Rocky yeah I read ratlratls post and checked my recirc door and its working great, I think my problem is diffrent then what there talking about on that post.

Sweeney, thanks for the part number and TSB, I looked at Dogeram.info at there tsb section and couldnt find the 24-004-02 that your talking about. Would you happent to have a link to something I could read or print to help my on the install.

The tsb is for 02 models only-but its the same part for all dr 02-08 & I'd post a link-but its from mamma chry-you have to have a registered user id to access.Just follow the instructions for a recirc housing-which will get the dash back & the plate is in the middle & up top-no case removal necc.
