brake light problems

On my 05 im having problems getting the rear brake lights to work, it has a flatbed so its not the factory lights, ive got turn signals tail lights and reverse lights but no brake lights. Thought it might be brake switch but my 3rd brake light is working and i even tried switching the brake switch from my 03 and it didnt help, any suggestions?

The brake light switch inputs to the high-mount brake light and the multifunction switch, which then sends the voltage to either or both rear brake lights, depending on the position of the turn signals. So, if the high- mount works, it rules out the brake light switch. I would suspect the multifunction switch or its wiring. You might want to try fooling around with the hazard light switch a bit to make sure it isn't binding or causing problems.

When you say "multifunction switch" exactly what do you mean?

For wireing info. go here and follow the links,http://www.rambodybuilder.com/year.pdf
At the integrated power module, check connector c3 pin13 on module for power, for lt brake light,
on connector c4 pin 2 for power to right light, you will need someone to push brake pedal, good luck

The multifunction switch is the name of the lever on the side of the steering column that contains the signal light switch, hazard light switch, wiper/washer switch and headlight dimmer switch.

Think rather than trying to trace that problem down and since its a flatbed i will just wire into the trailer lights since all of them seem to be working properly

ok i solved my issue, i too have a flatbed, unfinished, and my temporary wiring job wasn't as permanent as it needed to be. the wiring on these trucks run though a computer. if it senses a short it will electronically trip a switch that turns just the taillights off independently of the third brake light.

short (hehe) of it all is look for a short lol
