Brake Help
I am in need of front and rear rotors and mine as well do the pads also, and have always found this site awesome for help. I have searched and searched in here to find a detailed post with pictures on how to take off the rotors on a srw dodge 3500. It would also be great if I could get info on how to change the parking brake shoes. Thanks again for all your help in all of this, I am a novice mechanic (I should not even call myself that) that is a visual learner (I am an art teacher so visual aides are a must) and I have changed rotors on my previous F150, so I think I can do it. Thanks again for looking and helping me out. Have a great weekend.

I believe when it comes to brakes, the 2500 and the 3500 SRW are the same. I know you are wanting pics but you can get a repair manual (that's what I did) and changed my front caliber. Disc brakes are very easy compared to drums.

It's really a pretty simple job, no differant than any other brake job I'v ever done. You'll be able to look at it and see how things go.
Only do one side at a time. If something doesn't seem to fit right, you can look at the other side.

I'm asking him if he's telling me to take the rotor off with a C clamp. I can see compressing the caliper plungers with the c clamp, but not the rotor. If there is some trick I don't know, I'd love to hear it.
Yes, 03's up have disks all the way around, but there is still a drum assembly for the emergency brake in the back, built into the rotor IIRC. Not sure why you asked that....

dont mess around with block of wood...
BFH and hit the rotor on the hat (not the braking surface and dont hit the studs!)
breakes the rust loose nicely and rotor slides off...
parking brake system is an overly simplified drum brake system, just take the rotor off and you will see, very easy... and honestly it's probably out of ajustment... my truck had 150,000 miles on original parking brake system and shoes looked great.

Sounds good, and thanks for the help. Anyone use Powerstop rotors and brakes. They have a set for both axels: pads and slotted rotors for $500 on Autoparts warehouse. Is there a better set up for the amount I plan on paying? I am actually looking forward to doing this job, maybe I will take pics and post the DYI set up for others.
