Brake controller connector
I'm installing my camper brake controller in our new 2500. The connector under the dash is about as far left and up as it could be. It seems to be attached somehow in its current location. I need to be able to pull it down to connect my controller. I'm afraid to yank it down without knowing how it's being held in place.
Has anyone else pulled this connector down?
Thanks,
David

Someone on TDR mentioned that there is a plastic tie holding it on and you can cut it to move the connector. I haven't tried yet myself since my Prodigy has not arrived.

After reading the posts, I expected to have a real deal of time finding the connection for my Prodigy on the '05 and thought 30 minutes would do it.
I got out the harness made by Tekonsha and saw that it had a blue connector for the vehicle end and looked under the dash and a blue connector was attached to the left side of the fuse box that was the same as the cable end. I plugged it in, removed 1 screw on the right side of the steering wheel and mounted the Prodigy cage to it, slid the cable through the cage and plugged it in. The lights came on and it worked when the trailer was hooked up to it. It really didn't take 3 minutes, I don't know when that hookup was started, but is sure is neat and easy. Jeff

FYI, I yanked on mine and it pulled free fairly easily. The tie seems to be made of a zigzag material that breaks without much force applied. I tied everything off with new wire ties once it was hooked up.
I noticed on a TV commercial for the new 05 Ford SD, they're offering an in-dash brake controller from the factory. I wonder how good it is?

SuperGewl,
I said "they're offering an in-dash brake controller", not a "Cummins engine". In that case, I might consider it . . . but not for too long.
