body or suspension lift

hello all.

I have an 04 that I just bought some 315/70/17 BFGs for. I'm looking at stock height of trucks like mine with these tires (2500 diesel 4x4) and I don't like the smaller gaps. It makes the truck look smaller, so I want to lift it around 3-4". I would like to do the work myself (keep in mind I was a bodyman for 8 years, so a little handy)

My question is, which one is better for what I'm looking for as well as far as ease of installation, body or suspension (i guess some price sway as well)

Thanks in advance,
david

suspension is easier i think. have to have alot of brackets and extenders for the body lift.

i did a suspension lift on my 05 3 inch procomp in the front and 2 inch blocks in the rear and i love the look of it. i wouldn't do a boby lift to much involved in lifting it lots of relocation brackets to mess with.

Did you have to change out the shocks? and how long did it take you to install? and about how much $?

Thanks a ton

LOL!!! I have a couple female friends that give me crap for my truck being so tall and I just tell them that if they have problems getting into my truck then I can always help them with a little push! LOL!!

But I hear ya, Don't argue with a Latin woman or any woman at that. If momma aint happy NO ONE IS HAPPY!!!

suspension. body lifts ride like crap and take just as long to install. Its not that bad to install a suspension lift on a dodge

How does a bodylift change the ride? does nothing to the suspension. If it rode like crap before it will ride like crap after. I have had many people tell me that my truck rids killer and they are all suprised because of the size of it, they automatically thought it would ride like crap because of how tall it is.

I agree cbrahs,
I have a 2inch Body Lift on my 4runner before I added suspension and body lifts do nothing with the "ride" quality as nothing has changed to the suspension. The only big difference is making high speed turns, such as on an offramp, etc. Body roll increases alittle but the "quality" is just fine.
