Blend door!!! add me to the list..

At 36,250k being just out of warranty, the blend door went out. I called my dealer and they said to bring it in and they would look at it. Since its so close to warranty they are only charging me 50 bucks as a copay so im happy about that. (they said it was about a 900$ job) is that right? There have been so many issues with this I thought there might be a recall or something. 50$ is not bad when they could have been jerks and said no warranty at all.

Bummer. Nice that they are taking care of most of it.

From looking at the amount of work involved, I'd bet it would be a $900 job...

Add me to the list Ours has been on the blink for the last year and has now completely broken. I checked hoping it was the recirc, no luck. Dodge needs to issue a recall because it's going to be a safety issue going into winter with no defrost. Anybody know a good shop in the Phoenix area to repair it? WE're definitely out of warranty.

Mine went out a couple of weeks ago with 31000 on the odometer. Took it in and they changed the recirc door and condenser. Hopefully it will last.

What's the difference between the recirc door and the blend door? I've already had the blend door replaced under warranty. I know now it seems as if every so often the defrost gets stuck on even though the **** is on "off". During the summer I had air coming in from the outside and it seemed like it was being cooled.

RD TRCTR - Just remove your glove box. You can see the recirc door just above the blower. Switch between recirculating and outside air. If it moves correctly, that's not your problem.

Blend=hot/cold, Recirc=outside/cab air.

I just had mine done yesterday for the second time. I'm at 37,xxx miles and they didn't charge me anything because the TSM had been rewritten to include the whole housing rather than just the door. Just to clarify, mine was the recirc door not the hot/cold door.

In typical Dodge fashion they choose to keep repairing the problem rather than finding a permanent solution to the problem.
They done the same thing on the half tons with the 9 1/4 rear end that where equipped with limited slip. There are some clips that hold the clutch pack in place. These clips will fail sending pieces of metal into the rear end. They would also back out and cut a deep groove in the bearing cap. Well good ol'
Dodge is still replacing the clips with the same junk that failed to begin with!
It's no surprise to me that some guys have had multiple blend door failures, they fix junk with junk! I love my truck but if it wasn't for the Cummins I'd probably drive something else.
I know that all manufactures have their problems but Dodge has horrible customer support!
