BFG Ragged Trail Tires= Wanderlust???

I'm starting to wonder about my OEM BFG ragged Trail tires. I have had my front end gone completly through as well as adding a PSC Brace. I have a slight wierd wander or the need to constantly correct the truck that almost feels like the tire sidewalls are giving way too much and cant support the girth of the big 5.9L.

I have the tires set at 55 PSI. The tires are fairly new and show little to no wear. I have the ones that came as an option on the 05' I thinkg they are 265/17's? OWL tires. The truck seems to float around a little. the steering is tight and every single piece has been gone through...Not once. Not twice but four times by two different Dodge dealers. I thought it may be my steering box but its good. I have had two tie-rods that had a tad of play replaced. Aligned twice.

I had seen a TSB on the 2005-2006 Power wagon tires causing the trucks to pull right pretty bad on crowned roads and the fix was to put a new set of BFG 285/17 All Terrains on em'.

The PSC brace I had installed yesterday helped out when cornering for sure. Feels more consistant.

Anyone else have any issues with the weak sidewalls on the BFG Ragged Trail or is it just me?

I have had the factory BFG RT OWL tires on my truck since I bought it. I got 55k out of the first set and just replaced them with the same tires. I run 55 psi in the fronts and 50 psi in the rears when empty and have never had a problem with my steering wandering. Mine are E rated and I don't feel like they have weak sidewalls at all.

Just bumped them up to 62PSI in the front and 55PSI in the rear.....

Much better. Must be our 6K altitude up here. Sidewalls still dont feel as stiff as the BFG AT's on my last truck but I think they will do for now.

Thanks Hunter!!!

Dosen't the FRONT tires call for 65 psi ? Thats because of the engine weight.

Sticker in the door says 45PSI unladen 55 with a load. Go figure.....I think I may bump my fronts up to 65 as well.

states that get lots of snow, tend to put A LOT of crown in their roads. many people who think they have some major front end/tire issues because of the right hand pull, really just need some negative cross caster, to compensate for the road crown. if the guy at you alignment shop looks confused when you mention this to him, leave and find another shop.

I agree. Even my wifes new Avenger is hard to handle at 80 MPH on that HWY.
