Which is a better tire..Michlin or BFG?

Have an 07 2500 which I bought in Jan 07. It came w/ the Michelin LTX A/S tires. Tires have preformed & worn well for past 16K, so dont really have any complaints with them.
Washed truck other day and noticed that I've got fine hairline cracks going abt 1/2 way up sidewall from the rim.
Have read the huge thread abt this problem & how Michelin warrantied out a bunch of these tires in 06/07. My tires were made in Jul 06 according to the date code.
Went to Sears yesterday & salesman says tires have 'dry rot, and thier manager can do the warranty thing during weekdays.
Michelins are reported here as going 60-100K. Havent seen anything on the BFGs
So here's my problem. Assuming I'll have choice of antoher set of LTX's or BFG's equilvalent, which is a better brand of tire?
Thanks for the info & opiniions

If someone tried to sell me some truck tires and told me that I could get 60-100 miles on them, I'd walk out. Think about it, if you can get 80,000 miles on these trucks you must have rocks for tires. Maybe that doesn't concern you, but I like to stop in the rain. It's all about traction, maybe it never rains where you live.

I've got 61K on my stock BFG Rugged Trails, with lots of rubber still left. Most of my driving is highway.

I found the Michelins to be very scary in the rain!

Beaver..it DOES rain in OH and usually most of the way across country both to & from AZ where we spend out winters. And hauling a 5th makes it even a lovelier ride in the rain
Dale...I hated Michelins on a Jeep Cherokee I had when it rained. With a light vehicle and rain, I was always spinning tires. The 2500 doesnt seem to have that problem...least not so far...even w/ the torque of the CTD
Had BFGs as replacements on a 2000 Dakota 4.7L, but didnt keep the truck long enought to get a real good idea on how well the BFGs worked
So guys....that's why I asked the ?

I've had both

Depends on what you're after-

Michelin LTX: best MPGs (when fully inflated), longer life, poor traction in snow (especially after first 20,000 miles), look whimpy.

BFGs: great traction in snow, slightly more road noise (not anoying though), 1-2 less mpgs, look good.

Now THAT's the kind of info I was really looking for
Looks could go either way. Still debating the whole OWL/blackwall thing (maybe another thread)
But that 1-2 MPG Less...OUCH!!
But since original LTXs just barely made 16,000, maybe I dont have to worry abt the tracion after 20k...LOL

Had a smoother ride with the stock Mich tires, however, thats compared to a 35 inch bfg mud terrain. On the other hand, I must note that the factory Mich on trucks when worn out usually are not replaced by another set of Mich. Just from what I have seen and heard. I am partial to BFG's because I get an estimated 50K out of every set. (Rotating and balancing every 5K)

I could see them being slightly noiser but if you stay with the stock size i doubt you'll loose 1-2 mpg. I've heard of peeps going up to 315's and loosing that much but not with the tiny 265's.

My 95 3/4 ton went 80,000 miles on the stock michelins.
If you need better wet traction, michelin make different treads. I don't remember the letter designations.
Michelins are several steps above BFG's, in my opinion.

Hydroplaneing was the scary thing, I don't think I ever spun the tires.
I've had some BFG TA's they were fantastic.
I will only recommend Pirelli scorpion ATR, or the Bridgestone dueler Revo, (E rated) because I'm not sure if the BFG TA comes in "E".

I am on my 2nd set of Michelin LTXs and In a 265 70 17 they did not make different tread designs (at least they did not when I ordered my last set. I tried to get the LTX MS tire but it only came in a 16 The 17s are a LTX AS.
They wear very well but I am in 4x4 when The BFGs are still in 2wd.
