My 89 cheve had developed serious half moon cracks at each of the 6 bed to frame mounting points and this was when it was only about 4 years old. I wheeled that truck doing a lot frame twisting etc. Anyway, I remove the tool chest and had a real pro weld the nicest tiny little tig beads I have ever seen on each failure. Those were the first of many welding repairs but all the other repairs were on the frame. Im still chasing frame cracks one of which is under the pass side hard to get to motor mount.

That truck was 4 wheeled a bunch up until last year and all those bed repair welds are awesome today.

If it happens to my CTD Im going to do the same.
