anyone have any advice?

I have a code p0514 battery sensor performance/ rationality. Anyone have any suggestions why it would be throwing this code. The reason I checked for a code is my cd player would not play or eject, after cranking the engine and letting it run a few seconds it ejected the cd and then would play it. Any suggestions?

...and talk with MikeS, looks like he had a similar problem and may have an answer.

Your kidding me. My cd player did that to me this morning. I didn't check for codes though.

The dreaded P0514! Mine (check engine light) has been reset about 3-4 times. Last time about 2 months ago. DC says there is no fix and it is not hurting anything. I told them I was not happy driving around in a $40K truck with the check engine light on and all they can say is there is NO fix??? What happens when someting really goes wrong and the light is already on from their no fix claim????????

Mine had the same code for a while too. Had it reset. Then it came back. I ignored it and it went away on it's own.

I also had to have my stock stereo/cd player replaced with a stuck CD inside it. So far, the replacement has been fine. Dealer told me they have had a problem with some of the Factory Stereos eating CD's or not giving them back. Don't know that that had anything to do with the p0514 code though. I doubt it.

code

Dealer called it in for me last week at oil change and DC replied they are working on a fix. Printed that out on my receipt for what that's worth. Second time it has happened. Moisture under battery gets blown out with compressed air and it goes away. Hadn't rained or washed truck so who knows where water came from. As long as you see your volts holding steady you know it's a false alarm and the battery is still getting a charging.
