another new mode?

another new mode?

was reseting my overhead this morning playin with the buttons. I hit the c/t button and then held the reset button and after around 5-10 seconds the screen lit back up but not like it normally looked. It was showing a #8 and the letters "var" underneath it. You could also change the value of the number from 1-11. what does this mean? thanks

It sets the magnetic variation (deviation from true north) for the compass.
Depends on what zone you are in as to what number you should select. The compass will be more accurate when you have it set correctly.
