What mode is this?
Today I was at the Pilot filling up on fuel with the truck off and then went to reset the trip meter on the dash since that's how I calculate the mileage. I noticed I couldn't do it with the key off, so (while holding the button down) I turned the key on, and then noticed it seemed to go into a test mode. Every light on the dashboard lit up and the gauges went through what appeared to be a test mode where they went up to the maximum values and then back down. Then, it displayed a number on the odometer "A4 24" followed by "00 00" a few seconds later, and then back to normal.
Anyone know what this mode is or what the significance is of it?

Here is a snapshot of what the test is doing.
The text “C Code” is displayed in the odometer VFD for about three seconds. If there is no stored fault information, the display will show two pairs of zeroes in the format “00” “00”, which indicate that the display of fault information is done. If there is stored fault information, two sets of two-digit alpha and alpha-numeric fault codes will appear in the odometer display for a three second interval. The first pair of digits represents a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), or fault code for the instrument cluster.
The second pair of digits is a counter for the number of ignition key cycles that have occurred since the displayed DTC was set. The instrument cluster will continue to display additional sets of two pairs of digits at three second intervals until all of the stored codes have been displayed, which is again signaled by a code of “00” “00”.

They might be able to save a few bucks if they did.

I'll probably be taking delivery of my 05 next week, so that got me thinking. I wonder if any dealers are saying to customers: "Tell you what, we'll throw in a set of mudflaps" and not fill the tank. When/if a customer complains about it, they say something like "We ran out of diesel, or didn't have time to fill it up, so since we had a set of mudflaps on hand....."

Hi all,
Well, I just went out to my truck to try this nifty trick and guess what? I've got codes! I've searched for some sort of lookup table but can't find a list of codes (except "P codes"). Can someone help me interpret these codes?

Thanks!

The first 2 digets are the fault code, the last 2 are the number of ignition cycles since the code.
66 32 - All door lock output circuit shorted to ground or voltage.
68 03 - Driver door unlock output circuit shorted to ground or voltage.
A4 74 - Do not know what this means, but could be signal code message not received. For what I do not know. Could be a loss of signal from ABS.
00 00 - means all codes have been displayed
Hope the above helps.
Sean that is a very high mph average (46) must be all highway driving.
