Well had my 05 3500 for about 2 weeks now the stereo sucks. Or the door panels do. At even low volume the panels rattel or the speakers do? Thats with the bass set in the negative. Whent to the dealer today they said it was normal

, now Iam a old fart but still like to jam. Guess I will try another dealer or replace something. My 04 had just the normal system and it sounded alot better than this one.Maybe its just the door panels , but from my search it dont sound good

I also get laughed at by my wife, her navigator will rock your world. (for a stock system)

I watched my buddy when he replaced all the speakers in his 05 and dyno matted the doors..it sounded great when he was done.he didnt seem to have a trick to it...just going slow..i think the only problem he had was he got a little anxious and bent the metal piece that moved his lock up and down. But that bent right back and now you cant even tell. I just did the door panels on a camaro the other day. Would be a lot more help if it was somethin like that. Somebody on here will have done it recently....
someone should make a template of the door and have laser-cut dynamat sheets with all the holes already cut out, they could make a killing. I would pay $100 a sheet.
Guess that I'm going to have to do the Dynamat thing too because I can't stand the buzzing. Just to clarify, what surface does the mat get placed on? The inside of the outer door skin or the inside metal door panel, between it and the plastic inner panel?

Another thing you can do with dynamat is get a pair of 6x9 to 6.5 speaker adaptors, put one layer of dynamat on the door, install them overtop and then seal them in with more dynamat, then install a pair of 6.5s.
So it basically keeps the plastic door panel from vibrating against the metal inside door panel... That and blocks noise from outside, I'd assume. Do you cover/close off all of the access openings in the metal panel?
basically. you'll have to cut openings for the plastic tabs that hold the door panel on.
